FALLOUT: Marooned In Novac
A freaky New Vegas sandbox fever dream to explore for a few minutes. You're stranded in a crater the size of Novac - many , many years after the legendary Courier Six wandered the Mojave Wasteland. Curiously, many of Novac's famed locations and haunts are to be found in the crater too. Thus, the name: Fallout: Marooned In Novac .
This game is a submission for RETRO JAM: 2021 . The original New Vegas was 3rd gen and I decided to retrofit it for PSX/PS1 in design and graphics. My implementation of the theme "Side Effects" is nonexistent but I really can't say what happened for this stranger to end up in such a creepy crater.
CONTROLS:
- w,s,a,d / move
- space bar / jump
BONUS ~Katamari Mode~
Revisit the map and become the void you're destined to be in a very loose spin of Katamari Damacy gameplay. Lonely, rolling void!
BONUS ~Novac Radio~ virtual music player
Listen to all of the songs from the game on demand from the comfort of the main menu. Including: Joel's eerie deconstruction of "Ain't That A Kick In The Head", a chilling cover of "Johnny Guitar", and many more!

Install instructions
simply download for the correct system you have and launch the .exe, .dmg, etc! (Not sure how linux works, friends, but please let me know if you run into any trouble!)

Thank you, I wasn't aware of this mod! Looks like tons of fun and the weirdness is astounding. Puts the Wild Wasteland trait to shame.
Played it a little on Linux mint 64 and after some heavy lagging at the beginning it worked fine.
Is there something to interact with yet?
Its really surreal how the textures shift while you move around but it fits the kafkaesk atmosphere.
Thanks for the heads up about the Linux lag.... I don't have one to test on so I was going in without a clue here, haha!
I made this prototype for a game jam and ran out of time so I apologize that there isn't anything ~game~ about it right now! I'm working on expanding it but I'm super new to game dev and using Godot so it'll take some time but thanks so much for checking it out in this stage anyway. It really means a lot to me!

Oh the lagg thing was only for like the first two minutes and only if i looked arround. - i guess it took a while to load the map in all directions. Shouldnt be a problem. Godot --> cool! I was wondering what kind of engine you used. Good choice.
I'm really looking forward to replay it in future versions : )
