Devlog #2

ONE MONTH LATER...

It has been a little over a month since I released the demo for this project. Thanks to all who have expressed interest and have tried out the demo. A special thank you is in order to those who took time to give me feedback - to friends both old and new. It really means a lot to me and provides me with a base to start expanding the game and shows me places I can polish up some of my messy decisions.

FEATURES COMING SOON (LATE SPRING / EARLY SUMMER):

  • Fix default mouse sensitivity
  • New locations and characters! You've seen the Vale of the Living... how about a trip to the Vale of the Dead?!
  • New cassettes / music for the Radio in-game. The original soundtrack for the LSA Game Drive is available now on Bandcamp. I've included as-of-yet unreleased songs which will be featured in the game update - the very definition of a sneak preview.
  • Update game title to LSA #2 to LSA REDUX - I think it was an oversight on my part to call this “LSA #2” which heavily implies the “first edition” is part of a complete whole. I’m changing the title to include “REDUX” because I think it suits the game much better in the form it’s in right now.
  • Add more SFX: footsteps, pick up/drop sounds, UI sounds, etc
  • Cheat Codes to be used from Trading Cards
  • Configure separate Music, SFX, and Ambient/Atmos buses as sliders in Game Settings

CRAZY MERCH NEWS (LATE SPRING / EARLY SUMMER):

As part of the rollout for the complete first edition of Laughingstock Apocalypse REDUX and to celebrate the end of my first three years making digital playthings, I’m delighted to announce that the HEADCLEANER Game Drive Vol. 1 (2020-2023) and the Laughingstock Apocalypse Game Drive will be available late Spring / early Summer 2024.

What is a Game Drive one may ask? Not long ago I found some abandoned BluRay/PS3 cases and FlashPac USB cases and decided to put them to use in the development of a physical collection of some of my work (both housed on USB Flash Drives). I will be putting each case together by hand and each case will include special goodies (EXAMPLES: a zine, a sticker pack, trading cards with cheat codes, a soundtrack) in addition to the USB Drive containing the games using Ask K’s wonderful MMBundle Launcher tool.

ABOVE: Look at that ugly, rough print job!

Here is a breakdown of each product and the features I plan to include:

GAME DRIVE - PHYSICAL #1:

HEADCLEANER Game Drive Vol. 1 (BluRay/PS3 Case) : 6 projects, 1 survival guide, 1 zine, 1 sticker pack, 1 soundtrack comp

GAME DRIVE - PHYSICAL #2:

Laughingstock Apocalypse Game Drive (FlashPac USB Case) : 2 projects, 1 sticker pack, 1 zine, 1 soundtrack, 2 trading cards (randomly selected / foretold by gyromancy)

BONUS PRODUCTS:

  • Trading Card / Cheat Code Pack (includes all cards - 10 total)

  • Laughingstock Apocalypse Sticker Pack

Prices are TBD, of course, when all is said and done…

Stay tuned for more!
